There were lots of high points as Akinwunmi Ambode took his message of continuity to Amuwo-Odofin and Ori-Ade Local Government Area (LGA) today. The Lagos state All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate restated his resolve to keep the state within its tradition of excellence by improving upon the laudable programmes of the present government.
He said this while interacting with the people at a town hall meeting where he entertained questions from the Amuwo-Odofin electorates that consisted ethnic nationalities, religious groups, artisans associations and a host of youths. Questions bordered on government inclusion, access to finance and sustained infrastructural growth, and Ambode gave assuring responses to all.
He gave a promise of prosperity and welfare in the next four years, adding that his programmes and policies are all people-oriented and are in line with the manifesto of the progressive APC basically designed to better the lives of the people by using common sense revolution.
Ambode said more fruits of governance will come to Lagos and to the nation as a whole when the people together unite to vote out the corrupt leadership at the centre.
A high point of the interactive session came when the Peoples’ Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha of Imo state arrived to grace the event. Speaking to the cheering audience, he also labelled the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a “disgrace to the country”. He said the rot in the country simply shows that there’s bad leadership in the country, and must be changed by March 28.
The Arewa community, the South-south coalition, the Igbos, market women and men, and all the artisan groups that participated in the interactive session all declared their support for the continuity in Ambode’s candidacy, and also for the candidates of the APC In the forthcoming elections.
