The members of the Lagos state chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) today expressed their support for continuity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Lagos state, owing to the excellent standard of governance they have produced and which is visible to all inhabitants of the state.
Speaking through their Chairman, Chief Adebayo Ajayi, at a meeting held in honour of the incumbent Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and the one he addressed as the “incoming governor”, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the association promised to foster their partnership with the APC government by supporting their gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming election.
“We have decided to support continuity by voting Ambode as the next governor in Lagos state. We do not accept adulterated petroleum products, that is the same way we won’t allow adulteration nor contamination of the standard of governance that the only the APC has produced in Lagos state”, he stated.
Ambode thanked them for the promised support and also reciprocated by giving assurance of that continuity of excellence that they seek. He described them as major influencers in the election, saying that their cooperation will ensure that the growth and development the state has enjoyed in the past 16 years remains irreversible. He said more of more good governance will come if they vote for the APC at the Federal level.
Governor Fashola, reiterated that position by urging the IPMAN members to remain “quietly stubborn” in their pursuance of a change at the centre and of continuity in Lagos, irrespective of what the opposition does to frustrate the electoral process and the electorates.
