Market Women and Men Rally for Ambode

The market women and men of Nigetia led by the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, gathered today at the Onikan statdium to restate their unalloyed support for Akinwunmi Ambode, the All Progressives.Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, and other APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Mrs. Tinubu-Ojo declared that all members of the Lagos state chapter of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria, have pledged their support for Ambode in a bid to sustain the growth and development that has been witnessed all over the state under the APC.

“We market women and men make up a majority among voters. I can assure you that we have our voters cards, and with this support and our continued prayers, victory is definitely assured for Mr. Ambode and all APC candidates in this general elections”, Tinubu-Ojo added.

Mr. Ambode, who was joined at the event by his wife, Mrs. Bolanle Patience Ambode, thanked the leadership and members of the market women and men for their overwhelming support and promised to keep Lagos working for them and all its citizens.

“I am grateful for this support you’ve all shown. Anyone who has the backing of the mothers and fathers of the land is sure to succeed. You have pledged your support for me and I in turn pledge to performance to sustain our tradition of excellence”, Ambode stated.

Ambode promised to improve the standards of Lagos markets, create easier access (roads) to these markets in order to increase their profitability, make the markets more conducive for trading, and also improve on the working relationship between markets and the government.

The market women and men were joined at the rally by a number of women from the Christian Women Network of Nigeria, who came to show their solidarity and support for Ambode.

Also present at the event was the Babaloja of Lagos, Alhaji Wasiu Atanda Balogun, and Chief (Mrs) Oluremi Tinubu, Senator representing Lagos Central.
