The Lagos state Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) today held an interactive session with the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. The four arms of the body – Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), the Organization of African Instituted Churches and the Evangelical Fellowship of West Africa, were all represented at the meeting by their leaders and executive members.
According to the Lagos CAN Chairman, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, the interaction was put together by the foremost Christian body to create a platform for the APC governorship candidate to outline his vision and mission to Christians in the state. The Chairman of PFN, Bishop Sola Ore, added that the body is a responsible one that plays its part in societal growth, and as such is ready to partner with any administration that seeks progress for state at all fronts.
Ambode stated that his vision is to create a safer, cleaner and more prosperous Lagos for all, irrespective of tribe, religion or ethnic background. Speaking further, he described his mission as one that seeks to sustain the tradition of excellence in the state, by consolidating on the work of progress done over the past 16 years.
He said that the state is set to move to the next level, adding that his vast experience at all levels of the Lagos state civil service and successful career as public finance expert puts him in the best position to lead the state to new heights. After the interactive session, Ambode solicited the full support of the revered body and her members to ensure victory for Lagos in the forthcoming state elections.
