The whole town of Epe literally erupted for their son, Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, as the entire campaign train of the party hit the town to present their candidates to the Epe electorates, today the 29th day of January, 2015.
The large crowd and the presence of foremost party leaders at the Epe rally depicted the massive support that Ambode’s candidacy has in the division.
Also, the presence of all the APC gubernatorial aspirants that vied in the APC gubernatorial primaries under the aegis “Aspirants Support Group”, showed solidarity and provided added steam to the support of the man they referred to as the “Consolidator” of the good works the state has constantly experienced.
Ambode spoke of his happiness to be among his kinsmen, and promised not to disappoint them as he further canvassed for their total support in the forthcoming elections.
“I am so happy to get this impressive turnout from my kinsmen. You have made me proud and at the same time humbled by standing by me and the party and I will not let you down”, Ambode reassured.
He added that the whole of Epe will experience further development that betters the one seen under the present government.
“I promise rapid and wondrous development, both infrastructural and economic, that will attract more investments, create jobs and engage our youths. There will be prosperity for all and Epe will be a new town”.
He urged them to take the 2015 general elections as an important one, as it is a determinant to the achievement to good governance that all Nigerians deserve.
“As the elections draw near, I urge you all to take it as an important one, which offers the chance of continuity here in our state and change at the centre. I need your votes to achieve the excellence we continually deserve in Lagos, and also your votes for the APC Presidential candidates to get more. To this end, you all eligible to votes must ensure collection of your Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to effect this change”, stated Ambode.
The Lagos governorship hopeful wrapped up his speech by promising thus, “I will do everything this town deserves to make it more prosperous and make the lives her people better. God will help us”.
The Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Fashola also thanked the Epe electorates and the Aspirants Support Group for the impressive and encouraging turnout. He urged them to shun what he described as “inexperience, deception, and experimentation” and rather embrace “competence and experience”, the combined attributes that makes Ambode the candidate to vote for to succeed him.
