The Arewa Community, a coalition of the non-indigenes in Lagos state, particularly those from the northern part of the country, comprising the Hausa community, the Fulani Community, and the Amalgamated Foodstuff, Ram and Cattle Dealers Association were all largely represented.
Speaking on behalf of the executives of these associations, Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, Chairman of the Amalgamated Foodstuff, Ram and Cattle Dealers Association, stated that they are all in support of continuity in Lagos and as such will vote for Ambode in the coming election.
Ambode appreciated the unprecedented show of support the non-indigenes have shown by organizing an endorsement rally for him and the APC in general. He promised to reciprocate the support by making sure Lagos remains livable for them.
He spoke further about his plans on consolidating the good job the APC has done in Lagos, while promoting policies that maintain the interracial harmony and peaceful coexistence that is existent within Lagos communities and businesses.
He urged them to remain resolute in their decision to vote for Continuity and Change at the centre, despite the postponement, casting their votes for the one he said will “save our country and make Lagos experience more fruits of good governance”, General Buhari (Rtd).
