Akinwunmi Ambode meets the Lagos Interdenominational Church Leaders

In continuation of his visits and consultations across Lagos, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, presented himself to the leaders of the state’s Interdenominational assembly at the Chapel of Christ The Light secretariat of the group in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Mr. Ambode described his gubernatorial intention as God-ordained, adding that the story of his leadership abilities dates back to his teenage years when he lost his Father, and then had to surmount life’s challenges almost alone, leading even his siblings in the process.

“I believe God used those challenges to rightly place me on the path of leadership and service to humanity, and that is why I always desire to express my gratefulness to God by being eager to serve people, and that is what my gubernatorial intention is all about”.

He echoed his belief that service to humanity is the greatest form of service, saying that has been what he exemplified in his 27 years of public service.
“I have been opportuned to be a Helper in the delivery of service in my years of service, now, I believe God has ordained to make me a Giver of that service”.

Furthermore, Mr. Ambode said, “this election is about the future of Lagos, and having lived all my life in Lagos state, and also serving in the mainstream public service for 27 years, I believe that I have the requisite abilities to make this future of our state an excellent one”

In his final words, Mr. Ambode said the task or burden to serve Lagos, though daunting, is “definitely ‘carry-able’ and solvable”. He noted that he can’t do it alone though, hence, he sought their support and most importantly, their prayers.

The governorship candidate was warmly received into the meeting by Archbishop Magnus Adeyemi Atilade, the Christian Association of Nigeria South-West Chairman, and all the other interdenominational leaders. A NADECO Chieftain and elder-statesman, Chief Ayo Opadokun was also at the meeting in an interdenominational capacity.
