The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, was today hosted to an interactive session by members of the Yoruba Tennis Club in Lagos. During the interaction, he restated his commitment to employ his experience and leadership prowess to make Lagos greater.
Ambode noted that Lagos has seen tremendous growth in the past 16 years, a growth that deserves continuity. He presented himself as a tested and trusted public administrator who has the requisite experience of what good governance is all about
“The dream here is a greater Lagos, I present myself as the Consolidator who is competent, ready to sustain this tradition of excellence Lagos is known for, and give it that identity of greatness it deserves”.
“I have the exposure, experience and financial wizardry to take Lagos from where it is presently, to a new place of greatness. I hereby solicit your support to ensure that this great state moves only on the path of vertical growth”, Ambode said.
According to the club’s Vice-Chairman, Brother Dele Martins, the Yoruba Tennis club is a club of politically aware and astute statesmen who are capable of engaging in productive and critical deliberation. The members asked questions to provide answers to their concerns regarding youth employment, security, agriculture, traffic management, the incoming elections, electricity, welfare for the elderly and civil servants, among others.
Ambode received a standing ovation from the members after he delivered crisp and clear answers to their questions, detailing his already set plans to tackle unemployment, poverty and the traffic challenge.
“We will replicate the success of the state’s Security Trust Fund by setting up a 25 Billion trust fund for employment; it’s intended to give easy access to funding, which will then empower and engage a majority of our jobless but talented youths and trigger their ability to create wealth”, he said.
“When elected, we will also organize a traffic summit where stakeholders like you and I and the ordinary road user, will come together to deliberate on how to get a master-plan to solve this challenge”.
Ambode added, “My manifesto has programmes with ready-made provisions for the welfare for our senior citizens and all civil servants alike. We will also invest heavily in law enforcement and technology to tackle the challenges we still have as touching security and transport”.
The APC governorship candidate said his administration, when elected, will be focused on people and issues and as such remain on that path to make Lagos take over the world.
