Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Friday condoled with the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the passage of his mother, Hajiya Fadimatu Umar Ganduje.
Hajiya Ganduje died on Friday morning at a ripe age of 95 years.
Governor Ambode in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, urged his brother Governor to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a long and fulfilled life and raised him up to become who he is today.
“The loss of one’s mother is always painful and leaves a great vacuum. Much as it is our wish that our parents, especially our mothers stay much longer with us, it is the will of God that she is called to glory at this time. Hajiya Ganduje, no doubt lived well, and it is evident in the six children she raised, who are today doing successfully well in their various endeavours”.
“I urge my brother and friend, Alhaji Ganduje to take heart and most importantly, take solace in the good times he shared with his mother while she was alive and the lessons she taught him and his siblings.
“I also urge him to continue to uphold the ideals he learnt from his late mother and utilise same to better the lives of the people of Kano State”.
“On behalf of the good people of Lagos State, I want to express our heartfelt condolence to the family of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on this great and irreparable loss and wish the departed peaceful rest,” Governor Ambode said.
