The Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, joined the Muslim faithfuls in Lagos today to pray for a peaceful election in 2015. The prayer session which was tagged “Muslims Pray for Peaceful Election in 2015” was organised by the Joint Muslim Forum under the auspices of The Muslim Community of Lagos State. The programme commenced with prayer and recitation from the Holy Qur’an.
Akinwunmi Ambode while addressing the Lagosians present at the event, praised God by citing Qur’an Chapter 67, Verse 1 “Blessed is He in whose hand is all authorities and powers and he has power over all things”. He also mentioned that “He grants authority to whomsoever he desires and he removes from authority whomsoever he desires”. At the programme, Professor Isiaq Akintola listed the demands of the Lagos Muslim Community from the government.
Akinwunmi Ambode while addressing the issues explained that his government will be an all-inclusive government where no religion will be left behind, he mentioned that appropriate stakeholders will be called upon to look into the demands and the recommendations will be implemented.
