I welcome you all to this 2018 Christmas Carol Service with the theme \u201cLight of the World\u201d<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n \n In John 8:12, Jesus said \u201cI am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life\u201d. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \n Christmas which marks the birth and coming of Christ into the world can be interpreted to mean the coming of light. The presence of light in the darkness is something which is unmistakable; it brings transformation and provides hope for those who have lost hope.<\/p>\n \n This is why a lot of what we do at Christmas is connected to light; lights on Christmas trees, houses, candles; all fit in with the theme of the coming of light which is personified by our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n \n As light therefore, we are expected to illuminate or make visible. Every day we are surrounded by people living in darkness; separated from the God who loves them.
