“I SEE A SAFE, CLEAN AND MORE PROSPEROUS LAGOS” – says Akinwunmi Ambode at TVC

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has stated that the thing that grants legitimacy to any government is selfless service to humanity.
He stated this today while answering questions as the special guest on a public affairs Television programme, “Your View”, held at the TV Continental Studios in Lagos.

Mr. Ambode received questions about his gubernatorial intention and his actual plans for the education, transport, housing, taxing, and the implementation of policies.
For all these, Mr. Ambode promised to employ his vast administrative experience to generally create an upgrade of the institutions in state, an upgrade that will encourage development, fuel a much thriving economy, and bring much ease to the livelihood of all Lagosians.

Ambode said, “As a example, we will create and encourage vocational training in our schools to bridge the unemployment gap, condense our taxes for ease of payment, surely build on the major success of the present government’s housing reforms, give governance back to the local governments, and also introduce Free Lunch into the already implemented Free Education policy”.

He added, “I see a safe, clean, and more prosperous Lagos, and I am sure that by God’s grace and with the support of all Lagosians, we will together make our Lagos the envy of all”.

While displacing the rumored “Godfatherism” and “indigeneship” sentiments, Ambode confidently urged for an objective look at his competence and capabilities to serve and also at his hard-earned victory at the party primaries. “I have the qualities to serve Lagos state, I have been diligent, very competent and I understand the issues of governance; and my emergence has nothing to do with Godfatherism.”, he said.

“I went through a primaries that I won convincingly, after I had pleaded for delegates’ votes by visiting all the local governments, and they willingly voted for me. This goes to show that the people accept me and want me to lead them”.

After the TV session, Akinwunmi Ambode proceeded to Radio Continental’s early morning talk show, “Talk Nigeria”, to share his thoughts about the forthcoming elections in Lagos. He reiterated that the reason behind his gubernatorial intention remains to serve Lagos exemplarily.
In his words, “I epitomize the story of the common Nigerian or Lagosian that can rise from a humble background and become who he or she wants to be, and that is what I want to give back to the people through the art of selfless service. Thank you”

The TV programme was broadcast live and will be re-broadcast at midnight today on the same station.
