Address Delivered At The 2017 Annual Thanksgiving Service Held On Sunday 8th January, 2017 At The Lagos House, Ikeja

With a heart full of gratitude to God; I welcome you all to the 2017 Thanksgiving Service.

This year’s thanksgiving is of more significance as we are using it to usher in the creation of our dear State, Lagos, exactly 50 years ago; thanking God and showing supplication for allowing us to witness the Golden Jubilee Anniversary together.

It is also an occasion, irrespective of our religion, to reaffirm our faith in Him and our belief in His grace, to make our hopes and aspirations for this New Year become reality.

????????????????????????????????????

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, exactly a year ago, we were gathered here. Recall as part of my wishes, I had stated that despite the bleak economic outlook predicted in many quarters, Lagos State will grow in leaps and bounds and be prosperous. No doubt, God has been faithful. As we covert greater prosperity for all of us here and the State this year, we are confident that our God will never fail us. Lagos State will witness pleasant surprises in every sector in 2017.

We are determined and God willing, we shall continue to achieve an all-inclusive progress and prosperity in the State.

We believe that as we are gathered this evening to praise Him and glorify His Holy name, new doors and windows of opportunities shall be opened for us as individuals, as a State and a Nation.

We want to officially welcome all other States and Governors to the Year 2017. We join hands together as Lagosians to wish Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari, who had once worshipped here with us in the past, Happy New Year, and pray that God will honour him as he leads the ship of the nation to its rightful destination.

Once again, I welcome you all, most especially our Fathers and Mothers-in-the-Lord. We appreciate your ceaseless prayers and wise counsels and pray that divine anointing shall never cease to flow in your lives.

We urge you all to continue to pray for our State and for our government, so that we can deliver a Lagos that we will all be proud of.

Thank you and God bless you all.
